A Study is a combination of Data and your domain knowledge: Causal Inference research question or experiment to be conducted.

A Study is a concept in Causal Wizard for the combination of two things:

  1. A selected Dataset, and
  2. Your domain knowledge, which includes:

When editing a Study, all the properties above can be changed. You can also give each Study a unique and memorable name, especially if you have many similar analyses.

Studies without a Dataset or data file

You can create a Study without uploading any data; however, you will need to define all variables in the Causal Diagram, as there are no Data Columns for Causal Wizard to examine.

Results

Results are always associated with a Study, although note that since a Study may change over time, each Result includes a copy of the Study at the time the Result was requested.

Each Study may have many Results.

Think of the Study as the definition of an experiment. You can use the Study to define a variety of related experiments, and request results for them all. It is often helpful to request Results using a variety of different estimation methods, or with slightly different versions of the Causal Diagram, so the effects of these changes on the results can be evaluated.
